Hello!

Hello All,

Sorry we've been away from the blog for a while. We've been rather busy with quite a lot of stalls and markets and haven't had any time to post at all!

We have however been keeping a facebook fanpage which can be found here. Why not come and have a look, we do lots of competitions and it's nice and easy to see where we are going to be in the coming months!

In other news, we are FINALLY getting this website sorted! It feels like there needs to be 30 hours in every day at the moment, but it's getting there!

Stay tuned, we'll be back soon!

Love

Annie

A thousand apologies!

Small cake or really large hands? you decide.

Hello all,
I'm sooooo sorry I've not been about for a while, it's been a little hectic here at cake towers. I shall try to summerise the past few weeks in one (incredibly long) blog post...

(As a slight aside, it's not all cake related but it does get there in the end)

Start of the month saw me and the Husband going 'darn sarf' to the 24th Annual Squires Kitchen Cake decorating exhibition. It was in Farnham and we decided to make a bit of a weekend of it, travelling down on the Friday and staying here for 2 nights. We were both in need of a bit of relaxation and after a looooooong drive (Via Bicester - don't worry! I was good, no purchases!), we kicked back with possibly the nicest pint of Fullers London Pride I have ever had...
...and then a couple more for good measure, just to make sure they were as nice as the first ones! ;-)
Saturday was the cake exhibition, which was AMAZING (but very serious). I got loads of new ideas and hope to try them out soon. One thing I would like to try, but thing I would be useless at, is proper sugarcraft flowers. They are unbelievable. Some of them were completely undistinguisable from real flowers, absolutely amazing!
Saturday night we had planned to live it up in full with a bottle of prosecco procured from Sainos prior to the trip accompanied by some chips and dips. This went by the wayside however when we got back to the hotel at 8pm and were only fit for a cup of tea and then sleep. Rock and Roll, you understand. This cake business is tiring!

Sunday saw us go to relatives for dinner in Kent and then home. (Sorry, thats a bit short and non descriptive isn't it?). It was brilliant, and we only got lost once!

I (stupidly) took hardly any photos of this entire weekend, but to be honest I did spend a large proportion of it either in jamas or on the motorway. Not at the same time you understand, but it was one or the other for the most part.
I do feel that I need to mention this though. It was a room devoted to a chap called Ildo Nicolello and he blew Sugar. I was absolutely mesmerised for about an hour and a half. He was both hilariously batty and talented. I'm quite tempted to go on a sugar blowing course but I can only see it ending in danger, and a trip to A&E.
Now, I know I said this was going to be one post but I'm going to split it down into a few as this really is quite long...

The Kirsty Club

Sorry for the late posting of last weekend folks, it's been a bit of a busy one!
Thursday night saw us attending (and making cakes for) a brilliant charity. You may have heard of Kirsty Howard (thekirstyclub.com), she is a remarkable little lady who raises money for Francis House, a Childrens Hospice in Manchester. It was a lovely evening, held at Henri Lloyd in Wilmslow and a lot of money was raised by the kind (and generous) people of Wilmslow. We provided cupcakes for the giftbags and from what I've been told, the feedback was brilliant!
I'll update on the rest of the weekend tmw, I've got research to do for a cake order thats come in today...

Hollins Farmer Market

Okay so once again my photo skills have brought the team down, but I feel they will do for now...
Some cookie and cream cupcakes...

Some (exceedingly popular!) black forest cupcakes...

Some vanilla...
A few lemon meringue (with fresh cream!)...

And finally a collection of Rum and raisin...

And there you have a Farmer Market!

In short, a brilliant Farmers Market! I sold out by 2pm (I'll make more next time, Promise!) and hot footed it to Sheffield for Rachael's little Boy naming ceremony. Excellent weekend Indeed.

This week see us doing a very large corporate event, details to follow tomorrow, and a lovely weekend in Surrey.

Will update tomorrow when my eyes are no longer held open with matchsticks!

xx

Cake anyone?

Just finished the last of the cupcakes for the farmers market at the Hollins tmw (bit of a fib, I finished ages ago and I've had dinner and done a it of ironing aswell!) and thought I'd nip on here to let you all know about the cupcakes we've got on tomorrow...

  • Vanilla
  • Rum and Raisin
  • Oreo cookie
  • Lemon Meringue (ok, I'm having such a spelling freakout, It looks as though I'm spelling 'mer-ring? No?' Maybe I'm over tired)
  • Black Forest - massive excitement about this. A friend has personally requested it. Choc sponge, cherry filling, whipped cream and a cherry brandy soaked cherry on top! Can this actually get anymore exciting? or indeed kitsch? (or should I say kirsch? hahaha!)

So, I'll see you all at the Hollins tomorrow then?
